ESPN report that Lou Piniella is set to be formally introduced as the new Chicago Cubs manager Tuesday afternoon, and that he wants to sign beleaguered Yankees third baseman – aka best shortstop in the AL – Alex Rodriguez.
That would be quite a coup … but it had better be just the start if the under acheiving Cubs are to emulate the White Sox and (potentially) Tigers in coming from the long grass to win the World Series.
